*Visa notes*

- *Samoan passport holders* must apply for a paper visa to enter the United States.

- *U.S. citizens* can enter Samoa for up to 90 days with a valid passport (6 months validity required), confirmed onward/return ticket and proof of funds. Visa‑on‑arrival is available for U.S. citizens for a maximum of 90 days  ¹.

- *Boxing Day:* Friday 26 December 2025 – embassy closed

*American Samoa – Travel & Visa Essentials*

- *Passport:* All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds.

- *Visa rules:* U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals enter freely with a passport; no visa needed. Citizens of Australia, Canada, the UK and most EU countries are granted a *30‑day entry permit* on arrival. All other nationalities must apply for an entry visa  ⁴ ⁵.

*FedEx in American Samoa*

FedEx Express built its international network more than 25 years ago after acquiring Gelco Express International. It continues to provide courier and logistics services to American Samoa, supporting both business shipments and holiday deliveries [partial user prompt].

*American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA)*

ASPA manages the territory’s electricity grid. Recent financial reports (31 December 2022) note minimal additions to utility plant assets and a fuel‑supply agreement signed in December 2008 to stabilise energy costs [partial user prompt].

*Safety & Health (Samoa)*

- *Crime:* Stay aware of surroundings, lock doors at night, don’t leave belongings unattended  ⁷.

- *Health:* Vaccinations recommended by the CDC; diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Zika are present. Samoa has limited HIV/AIDS treatment  ⁷.

- *Natural hazards:* Located in the “Ring of Fire”; prone to earthquakes, tsunamis and tropical cyclones during the rainy season (Nov – Apr)  ⁷.state gov.
